Sketchy Sketching Monday, Mar 17 2008

This is hard! It seems so difficult to me to translate these ideas into pictures. I have gone through several drafts and have yet to find one that I am happy with. This is very demanding of my time…

Art Project (part II) Monday, Mar 17 2008

Well that was a change in the winds. For the longest time, I thought that I was going to write as a song as a medium for my project. However, when I really started thinking about it, I decided to draw. I’ve been thinking about how unfairly women in this country are treated in comparison to their male counterparts and so I decided to draw. I think that I will try to capture the essence of the gender imbalance in the U.S.

As I have not really drawn since I was a kid, I will have to research different techniques used in black and white drawings as well as what implements to use. With no research, I feel that I will use everyday pencil and paper. I think there is something fundamentally cool about using something so simple to capture something so complex. Wish me luck…

Art project Monday, Mar 10 2008

In thinking about my art project, I think that I have decided to write a song. I am not exactly sure about how it is that I will get this audio file on to the computer, but I guess thats why they call it brainstorming. This would not only give my site a nice theme, it is also the medium through which I am most expressive.

Challenges… Monday, Mar 10 2008

I must admit, I got a little bit frustrated with trying to get my spreadsheet files into a .htm format. I eventually gave up on this task and decided to go with a .gif format. Although I still struggled with this, it proved to be much easier than its cousin. I am also glad that this happened because I learned a great deal through screenshots that I would have never known.

Money,money, money, money… Money! Monday, Mar 3 2008

What a cool project! It really puts chasing your dreams into some real perspective. I am thinking about documenting the cost of:

Playing Pro Soccer

Putting Out a CD

Being a Youth Pastor

Traveling to Europe

It seems to me that doing this project will help me to actually make one of these things happen. Having an idea of what it takes financially to make something happen seems like an important step toward making a dream, real.

Teaching the Teacher Monday, Mar 3 2008

I learned a great deal about what it takes to communicate over the internet. It takes clear, concise, and detailed writing that leaves no doubt in a given reader’s mind. When I think about how clear this class’s site is and how well it runs, I am truly impressed with Ms. Van Londen.

Thanks… Monday, Feb 25 2008

I feel as though I have relly benefitted from this class. I have learned a greatdeal about the in’s and out’s of the internet and multi-media production. This has truly been an eye-opener thus far and I know it will continue to open them.

To Teach or Not to Teach… Monday, Feb 25 2008

For a while, I was pondering what I should attempt to teach you guys. I came up with a solution. I love to play the guitar, and it has been made clear that many of you out there would like to learn this instrument. Well before you can play it, you have to tune it. I think that I am going to teach “the masses” how to tune a guitar. If you’re going to play, you’ll have to tune one at some point.

Adding a Bit of Culture to the Site Monday, Feb 18 2008

I don’t know about you guys, but I struggled to get some of those photos online. Between linking them to their originating sites and making them look proper, I acquired some grey hairs. Now that the culture site is turned in, I think we can all agree that it is time to take a deep breath. Thank you guys for your comments, some were very helpful.

Seeing the Light for my Culture Site Monday, Feb 11 2008

It took me a little while to get the hang of the sub-page function. It did not work for me right away but these childpages should now be fully operational. Who knew that this would be so involved…
